🌱 Rastafarian Cannabis Push, eBay for Weed, Cannabis Users Stay Active
Welcome to Rise & Roll, a bi-weekly newsletter that keeps you smart, savvy, and always in the loop on the latest in cannabis.
Here’s what we have on deck for today…
Rastafarians seek sacred cannabis rights in NY
New York's Rastafarian community is pushing for religious cannabis rights, and it could reshape the state's billion-dollar market. Leaders want special licenses for worship-based cultivation and sales, following models from Jamaica and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The ask? Let religious groups grow organic cannabis for ceremonies and licensed dispensaries — similar to how Christian stores can sell communion wine.
For cannabis entrepreneurs: this could open new partnership opportunities with faith communities while addressing the industry's diversity challenges.
Michigan gets bulk cannabis auction platform

A new eBay-style marketplace just hit Michigan's cannabis scene. Greenbids lets licensed operators buy and sell bulk cannabis, oils, and equipment through live auctions.
The platform's secret sauce? Pre-made contracts that protect everyone and speed up deals.
"We've got hundreds of bulk buyers ready to go," says John Grenier, who runs Michigan operations.
"Whether you're selling equipment or looking to move extra inventory, we'll put it in front of every serious buyer in the state."
For Michigan's growing cannabis market, this could be a game-changer in how businesses handle wholesale deals.
New data shows cannabis users (actually) exercise more
Forget what you heard about lazy stoners. A new federal study shows people move more on days they use cannabis. The research tracked 98 adults for a month, finding they did more intense physical activities like running and yard work when using cannabis.
Why does this matter? For cannabis brands, it's an opportunity to reach active customers. Think sports recovery products, pre-workout formulas, or partnerships with fitness brands.
The data backs what many already knew: cannabis users aren't couch potatoes.
